Abstract

In agricultural waste management, farmers generally do not know how to manage it and leave the waste scattered without optimal utilization, over time the waste will have a negative impact on health and also damage the environment. This community service program aims to empower the people of Kandangan Village, Laut Tador District, Batu Bara Regency, through waste utilization and environmental management for sustainable agriculture. Activities carried out include making Briquettes from waste from oil palm FFB harvest stalks and coconut shells. Village farmers are provided with knowledge and skills aimed at increasing awareness of waste management so that costs are cheaper and safer for health so that they can increase production yields and reduce agricultural maintenance costs, thereby improving economic and social aspects. The activity was held on July 9, 2025 at the Kandangan Village Office with a total of 15 PKK women participants. The results of the program showed that the community was enthusiastic and able to put the innovations that had been taught, which were expected to improve their quality of life and the environment. Thus, this PKM not only provides practical solutions, but also increases community awareness of the environment and sustainable agriculture.
