Abstract

The people of Sukajadi Village are mostly farmers, with the main commodities being rice and horticulture. Some residents also cultivate fish as a source of family income. The high price of fertilizers which has been creeping up since 2021 accompanied by rising food prices has caused farmers to have difficulty meeting the nutritional needs of their crops. Azolla pinnata is a water fern that is very easy to cultivate, its benefits for soil and plants have been proven to increase the availability of N nutrients and increase organic matter and cation exchange capacity. However, the benefits and techniques of A pinnata cultivation have not been widely known by the people of Sukajadi Village as partners in the implementation of this community service. Service to the community of Sukajadi Village is carried out through several stages, namely site surveys and consolidation with village officials, preparation of materials and A pinnata seedlings, counseling and training on A pinnata cultivation and monitoring activities. The results of the training were that the community has understood the benefits and techniques of A pinnata cultivation, the community can harvest A pinnata within 18 days after sowing. A pinnata produced is used by farmers as a substitute for inorganic fertilizer.
