SOSIALISASI PENGARUH IKLIM TERHADAP PERKEMBANGAN PENYAKIT KARAT DAUN KELAPA SAWIT

Leaf rust is an important disease in oil palm that not only reduces plant health but also has the potential to decrease plantation productivity. The development of leaf rust is greatly influenced by climatic conditions, particularly temperature, air humidity, rainfall, and light intensity, which are determinant factors in optimizing the role of pathogens in the disease. Often, a lack of understanding among farmers regarding climate and disease and their relationship leads to suboptimal and non-preventive control activities. This community service aims to improve understanding of oil palm cultivation concerning the impact of climate on leaf rust and the implementation of more adaptive management. The methods used include outreach activities and interactive counseling. The material presented includes the relationship between climate elements and disease cycles, signs and symptoms of attacks, and control measures based on environmental conditions. The results of this activity include an increased understanding among participants of how climate plays a role in disease epidemics and timely preventive actions. In general, this socialization is expected to support efforts for effective, environmentally friendly, and sustainable disease reduction at the farmer level.
