PENGUKURAN ULANG ARAH KIBLAT MASJID AN-NUR MENGGUNAKAN TEKNIK RASHDUL KIBLAT BAGIAN DARI PENDIDIKAN ANAK TPA

Abstract

Qibla direction verification is essential to ensure the validity of Islamic prayer worship. According to a survey by the Badan Hisab Rukyat Daerah (BHRD) of Yogyakarta, approximately 80% of 6,401 mosques experience qibla direction deviations. This community service project conducted a qibla direction reassessment at An-Nur Mosque in Pace A hamlet using the Rashdul Qibla method in collaboration with students from the Islamic elementary school (TPA). This technique is simple and practical, requiring only a vertical gnomon and careful observation of the sun's position. The measurement process provided students with hands-on learning opportunities about qibla direction and astronomical phenomena. This activity not only corrected the qibla orientation but also served as an educational platform introducing participants to the fundamental principles of Islamic astronomy and enhancing their understanding of worship practices.
