MENJADI PETANI MUDA: PENGENALAN AGRIBISNIS DAN URBAN FARMING UNTUK MENDUKUNG KETAHANAN PANGAN MASYARAKAT

Abstract

One of the attempts made to improve the role of the agricultural sector is through synergy among stakeholders. The development of the agricultural sector is closely related to the concept of agribusiness that aligns the upstream system with the downstream system. Various actions are taken to position the agricultural sector proportionally so that it contributes to regional development, one of which is Magelang City. This area is well known as the City of a Million Flowers has become a city that combines the concept of urban development by implementing urban farming through cultivation in yard areas. The activities initiated by the Magelang City Government together with the community require efforts to maintain sustainability and its usefulness. Therefore, it not only answers the problem of land limitations in the present, but also in the future. Efforts to implement urban farming are aimed at maintaining community food security while providing entrepreneurial opportunities so that it is expected to provide additional income for the community. However, implementing urban farming activities has challenges and various problems, not only land limitations but also the motivation that is still lacking among the community, especially the younger generation. Based on this, it is necessary to conduct Community Service (PkM) activities with students at SMA Negeri 5 Kota Magelang as the object to introduce the scope of agribusiness activities and the concept of urban farming
