Abstract

This study explores the role of reading, writing, and arithmetic (calistung) as foundational skills for developing academic abilities in elementary students. Using a descriptive qualitative literature review methodology, it examines the relationship between
calistung proficiency and academic performance. The findings highlight the critical influence of calistung on students' success in various subjects, emphasizing its importance as a cornerstone of learning. The study underscores the need to streng then calistung instruction to enhance overall academic outcomes in elementary education.
