Abstract

The availability of coconut shells in quite abundant but has not been utilized optimally, it is necessary to look for alternative processing so that it can become a new and renewable source of varied energy and is more attractive to the public for use. This needs to be done considering that the need for energy is increasing and energy sources are increasingly limited. Briquettes are environmentally friendly and biodegradable biomass energy. Briquettes have high economic advantages, namely they are easy to make and have ahigh calorific value. Apart from that, to sport the economic improvement of rural communities by utilizing environmentally friendly product, it is hopped that through the ITSI PKM program, villages will be created that have collaborative advantages and have personality, based on mutual cooperation in term of energy utilization
