The importance of food needs for every human being makes fulfilling it a top priority in development. Availability, distribution and consumption factors are part of food security. Availability means that the food supply is sufficient to meet the population's needs. The yard has potential if managed and planned well. One way of cultivating vegetables using a hydroponic system in the yard can help increase food security and improve household nutrition. Cultivating vegetables using the verticulture method is a cultivation technique that can be used on limited land. Green mustard greens (Brassica Juncea L) are vegetables that are easy to cultivate and have a higher nutritional content. Mustard greens are not only consumed as food, but can also be used for treatment. Mustard greens or caisin are very popular because they taste delicious and contain lots of protein, fat, carbohydrates, Ca, P, Fe, Vitamin A, Vitamin B, and Vitamin C. They can also relieve itching in the throat, cure headaches, and cleanse the blood. This community service program carries out outreach and implementation of the cultivation of green mustard plants using a hydroponic system, which is one of the efforts to achieve food security and increase living income in Sijabut Teratai Village.
